New tax cards and taxation of earnings-related daily allowance
New salary tax cards, that come into force in the beginning of February, will be automatically transferred to the KOKO fund. We recommend that you provide us with a revised tax card for the purpose of the benefit.
Here’s how the incomes register will affect applying for earnings-related unemployment allowance
The KOKO fund will receive salary information from the incomes register as of 1 January 2020. Salary information is used to calculate the amount of earnings-related unemployment allowance and to examine the right to daily allowance.
Increases in earnings-related unemployment allowance
With the general increase and index increment, the amount of the basic unemployment allowance rises to EUR 33.66 / day in 2020. For earnings-related unemployment allowance, the amount of the increase depends partly on your salary.
The cuts of unemployment security in accordance with the Activation Model are being dropped
The Parliament has approved amendments to the Unemployment Security Act to repeal the Activation Model on 11 December 2019.
Threshold of 200,000 members exceeded at KOKO fund
The KOKO fund now has more than 200,000 members. We thank both our new and old members for their trust, and we promise to continue to firmly provide security in changes in working life also in the future!
The MMA Unemployment Fund will be merged with the KOKO fund
The MMA Unemployment Fund for Professionals in Sales, Marketing and Purchasing will be merged with the Unemployment fund for highly educated KOKO in the beginning of 2021. The merger will not affect KOKO’s current members.
The postal strike will affect KOKO’s mail deliveries
During the postal strike starting on Monday 11/11, mail will not be sent from the KOKO fund. Though the strike will delay the mailing of decisions, this will not affect the payment of benefits. We recommend sending applications and attachments through the KOKO fund’s eService.
Membership fee in 2020 is 66 euros
KOKO fund’s membership fee is 66 euros in 2020. The fee is 9 euros lower than the year before.
The unemployment funds will start using information from the Incomes Register soon
Starting from 1 January 2020, the unemployment funds will start to receive earnings payment data on applicants of earnings-related unemployment allowance from the Incomes Register.

We have added a new feature to our eService: you can now send messages to your case handler and receive correspondence from them online.
