Apply for change security if you are 55 or above and your employment has been terminated on or after 1 January 2023
The new change security system for people aged 55 and above whose employment has been terminated will come into force at the beginning of 2023. The change security includes change security allowance, the right to access training and an extended re-employment leave.
KOKO’s membership fee is 63 euros also next year
KOKO fund’s membership fee for 2023 is 63 euros, meaning the membership fee remains the same as in 2022.
Unemployment allowance for additional days to be replaced by a change security model for over 55s
The payment of unemployment security for additional days will be phased out to be replaced by a change security scheme for those aged 55 or over. The legislative amendments will enter into force at the beginning of 2023.
The basic unemployment allowance will increase with an index increment of 4,2 percent next year
The basic unemployment allowance and the basic component of the earnings-related unemployment allowance will rise to EUR 37.21. The increase will take effect on 1 January 2023.

Mobility assistance is still unknown to some people, but many might be entitled to it. The purpose of mobility assistance is to encourage jobseekers to accept jobs further from home. The assistance compensates for the costs of commuting or moving.

The daily allowance application now contains pre-filled salary and employment relationship information obtained directly from the Incomes Register. This pre-filled information means that completing the application is even faster and that fewer attachments are often needed for the application.
Unemployment among KOKO members has fallen
The unemployment rate among KOKO members fell to 2.6% in July. The number KOKO members has been growing steadily and in June the limit of 240,000 members was exceeded.

Swap the mailed decisions on allowance for electronic decisions to get the information of the payment of your daily allowance faster. Log on to eService, go to Settings and choose the decisions to be delivered to eService.
Extra index increase for social benefits from 1 August 2022 to 31 December 2022
The Finnish Parliament has approved an additional index adjustment for social benefits for 2022. With this adjustment, the amount of earnings-related allowance, mobility assistance and job alternation compensation will increase. The adjustment will increase benefits paid from 1 August to 31 December 2022.
Extra index increment proposed for social security benefits
The Government has proposed an additional index adjustment for 2022 that would also increase benefits under the Unemployment Security Act, such as the basic unemployment allowance. Accordingly, the amount of earnings-related allowance, mobility assistance and job alternation compensation would also increase.
