A legislative amendment to abolish job alternation leave is being prepared by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health. According to the draft government proposal published on Tuesday, 12 December., the law would enter into force so that job alternation leave could still begin on 31 July 2024.
A job alternation leave that began in July could continue for the entire maximum of 180 calendar days.
In order for job alternation leave to be considered to have started by 31 July 2024, the job alternation agreement should be submitted to the Employment and Economic Development Office and the employment contract of the substitute during the alternation leave should start on 31 July 2024 at the latest.
The government proposal to repeal the Act on Job Alternation Leave is due to be submitted to Parliament in February.
Please note that the information concerning the entry into force of the new law is tentative and may change before and during the parliamentary process.
