The Government has proposed an additional index adjustment for 2022 that would also increase benefits under the Unemployment Security Act, such as the basic unemployment allowance. Accordingly, the amount of earnings-related allowance, mobility assistance and job alternation compensation would also increase.
The adjustment would increase benefits paid from 1 August to 31 December 2022. The benefits would rise by about 3.5 percent. The amounts of the basic allowance and labour market subsidy would increase by EUR 1.22 per day, or about EUR 26 per month.
We will provide further information once Parliament has approved the increase. The earnings-related unemployment allowance calculator and calculation examples on KOKO’s website will be updated after the increase has taken effect.
