Veli-Pekka Nurmi has been re-elected as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Unemployment fund for highly educated KOKO. The Chairman was elected at the unemployment fund’s regular meeting on 20 May. Mats Nyman was elected as a new Board member.
Nurmi has acted as Chairman for nine years, and the position will now continue for the next three-year term, up to the fund meeting in 2022.
“I am pleased to be continuing as Chairman for the next three years. The unemployment fund has undergone a major renewal, and the entire earnings-related benefit system is in transition. In contrast, there has not been much turnover on the Board, which has brought stability to the changes,” says Nurmi.
“The labour market for highly educated people has many special characteristics, which is why an actor such as the KOKO fund is needed to provide them with security. The Board is highly motivated to continue its efforts in developing the important activities of the fund.”
