Support packages and holiday compensation defer the start of the daily allowance payment
The financial compensation received from the employer in connection with the termination of an employment relationship (e.g. a support package and a lump sum payment) and holiday compensation paid on the basis of a full-time employment period of more than two weeks (= compensation for annual holidays that have not been taken) prevent the payment of earnings-related unemployment allowance for the term over which the compensation is periodised. The term of periodisation is calculated by dividing the amount of compensation by your average daily wages.
A term of periodisation is followed by a seven-day waiting period, after which the payment of daily allowance can begin.
Holiday bonuses have no effect
Holiday bonuses for full-time work will not be periodised and will not affect your earnings-related unemployment allowance at the end of your employment.
However, holiday bonuses and holiday compensation received for part-time work or work considered as business activities will be adjusted according to the payment date.
