The Parliament has approved a legislative amendment that will continue the standard entitlement of unemployment security until the end of November 2021. The easing of the terms of the mobility assistance will also continue.
The increase in the standard entitlement means that the recipient of earnings-related unemployment allowance can earn EUR 500 a month without the salary affecting the daily allowance. Each euro of earned income above EUR 500 decreases the daily allowance by 50 cents. Without the increase, the amount of the standard entitlement is EUR 300 a month.
As a result of the amendment, the standard entitlement of EUR 500 will be valid when the application period begins no later than 30 November 2021. The standard entitlement of EUR 300 will thus be applied for application periods starting on or after 1 December 2021.
You may receive mobility assistance if you are unemployed and accept work further away from your current place of residence.
With the legislative amendment, mobility assistance can be received for full-time work on the basis of a commute of more than two hours when the employment relationship starts no later than 30 November 2021. If the employment relationship starts on 1 December 2021, the commuting requirement of three hours will be applied again.
