Parliament has approved the continuation of the amendments concerning the standard entitlement of unemployment security and mobility assistance until the end of March.
As a result of the amendment, the EUR 500 standard entitlement (EUR 500 for a calendar month amendment, EUR 465 for a four calendar week amendment) for part-time or on-demand work income is valid when the application period starts no later than 31 March 2021. Mobility assistance can be obtained for full-time work on the basis of a commute of more than 2 hours when the employment relationship starts no later than 31 March 2021.
Some of the exceptions that apply to entrepreneurs and employees who have been laid off were also extended. As a result of the amendment, the nature of the laid off individuals’ full-time or part-time studies will not be examined from 16 March 2020 to 31 December 2021. An entrepreneur can receive labour market subsidy from Kela starting from 31 March 2021, if their income from business activities has decreased due to the coronavirus.
