An unemployment fund may disclose information about its members only to the member themselves or, for example, to authorities that have a legal right to the information (such as the employment authorities and Kela).
If necessary, you can authorise another person to handle matters with KOKO fund on your behalf. The power of attorney may apply to a specific matter, or to all matters related to your membership and allowances.
The power of attorney may be in free form, but it must include at least the following information:
- your name and personal identity number
- the party to whom the power of attorney is granted
- the matters which your representative is authorised to handle on your behalf with KOKO If you permit KOKO to disclose information about your health (or financial situation) to your representative, this must be specified in the power of attorney.
- length of validity of the power of attorney
- date and signature
A signature is not required for powers of attorney submitted in KOKO’s eAsiointi service.
Please note that the bank account number to which the fund pays your allowances cannot be changed with a power of attorney.
